Ephesians 6:10-15
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
Ephesians 4:4-7
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
When you stand in the shoes of Gospel peace, you will:
1. Overcome VULNERABILITY
“Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground” Ephesians 6:13
2. Overcome INSTABILITY
“(Stand) with your feet fitted (shod)” vs 15a
3. Overcome IMMOVABILITY
“…with your feet fitted (shod) with the readiness” vs 15b
4. Experience TRANQUILITY
“…that comes from the Gospel of peace” vs 15c
What is the Gospel?
Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
Later Creeds
● Nicene Creed- (AD 325) Explained the Deity of Christ and His Oneness with the Father.
