- The 21st century church has lost its mission
- The 21st century church has lost its message
- The 21st century church has lost its mystery
- The church must regain its purpose
- The church must regain its power
- The church must regain its potential
- The church must remember its promise
Observations from 2 Chronicles 29-30
When the house and the people of God are restored, it affects all of society.
“King Hezekiah said, ‘Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the Lord God of Israel, that His fierce wrath may turn away from us”. 2 Chronicles 29:10
When the house and the people of God are restored, all can take part in God’s blessing.
“In the first year of King Hezekiah reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the Lord and repaired them”. 2 Chronicles 29:3
When the house and people of God are restored, sin is removed, and leaders are released.
“Then he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them in the East Square, and said to them ‘Hear me, Levites! Now sanctify yourselves, sanctify this house of the Lord God of your fathers, and carry out the rubbish from the Holy place.” 2 Chronicles 29:4-5
When the house and people of God are restored, God is glorified and honored.
“The whole assembly of Judah rejoiced, also the priests and Levites, all the assembly that came from Israel, the sojourners who came from the land of Israel, and those who dwelt in Judah. So there was great joy in Jerusalem, for since the time of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, there had been nothing like this in Jerusalem. Then the priests, the Levites, arose and blessed the people, and their voice was heard; and their prayers came up to His holy dwelling place, to heaven.” 2 Chronicles 30:25-27
